| In their own words... Diane Zoblisien - I have had the privilege of being a part of Schrumpf & Schrumpf Law Firm since March of 1991. My contract with the firm includes Full-charge Bookkeeping, Payroll Tax Preparation, and Financial Reports. Shannon Duraso - I've been working for Schrumpf & Schrumpf, PLC since 1993. I do the title research for our Real Estate Department by going to the courthouse and researching the records. I am also the runner for our office where I pick-up and deliver various documents and packages. In addition to my title researcher duties and runner duties I also assist the legal assistants in making travel arrangements for the attorneys when they have functions out of town. Jeneth Taylor - I began my career with Schrumpf Law Office in February of 1990. I have been the Legal Assistant to Charles Schrumpf since that time. My duties consist of screening calls, scheduling appointments, scheduling depositions, drafting various types of letters including collection demands, drafting various types of petitions, including successions, administrations, homologations, collections, divorce, personal injury, lien affidavits, private and intra-family adoptions, discovery documents such as Interrogatories, Request for Production and Request for Admissions, drafting answers to discovery upon receipt, opening and sorting mail, notary work, trial preparation with the attorney, and attend trials when needed, and anything else that makes the attorney's work day easier. I have enjoyed my 11 years of employment with the Schrumpf team and look forward to many more. Patti Burgess - I have been a legal assistant to Oliver "Jackson" Schrumpf since 1997. I have an Associates degree in Occupational Studies in Secretarial. My duties as legal assistant include scheduling appointments, preparing letters, drafting legal documents and notarial documents, invoicing clients, and answering client calls. I also assist in preparation for trials and attend trials to assist Mr. Schrumpf in court. In additional to my duties as Mr. Schrumpf's assistant I also assist in general office duties such as assisting in technology decisions (update computer equipment and software, etc.). I feel very fortunate to work for such wonderful people. Working here is more like working with family. Jinnifer LeBlanc - I have been employed by Schrumpf & Schrumpf, PLC since 1997. I have an Associates Degree in Paralegal from McNeese State University. I began as the Receptionist and am now a Paralegal/Legal Secretary to Oliver "Jackson" Schrumpf. My duties include filing, answering client calls, scheduling appointments, invoicing clients, and preparing drafts of letters, legal and notarial documents. Linda Breaux - I have 22 years of legal experience and I have 60 hours of paralegal studies from McNeese State University as well as numerous paralegal seminar classes all over the State of Louisiana. I have been with Schrumpf & Schrumpf, PLC for 6 - 7 years. My main responsibilities are in Real Estate which consist of examining title, coordinating loan closings, preparation of loan packages, handling any curative title problems, sitting down with clients, realtors, and loan officers to examine and explain all of the documents involved in closing the loan and I thoroughly enjoy this field of work. I have worked for a City Judge and in other law offices previously and what I find makes this firm unique is the dedication and integrity Charles and Oliver Schrumpf bring to their profession and their clients and as role models their staff strives to emulate. Gwen McFarlain - I am the receptionist for Schrumpf & Schrumpf, PLC. I have been working here since 1999. My duties include answering the phone, opening new client files, keeping master files and client lists up to date on computer, filing, copying, sorting mail, scheduling appointments for both attorneys, assist with invoicing, and greeting clients. Donna L. Brown - I am a Real Estate Processor who prepares the Real Estate transactions in our office. I work with many of the local realtors, financial institutions and mortgage brokers in the closing of their Real Estate loans. My duties consist of preparing the documents associated with the loan closings and transferring of title of property. At the time of closing, I sit down with our clients and walk them through all the documents and answer all questions they may have at that time. I also assist individuals in handling private Real Estate sales through various avenues, such as Cash Deeds, Bond for Deeds, and Vendor's Liens, etc. |
